Right Image - Astros Game/National Anthem

On July 26, 2004, Crystal took the field at home plate and sang a moving acapella rendition of our National Anthem to thousands at Minute Maid Park, the home of the Houston Astros.  Fireworks were streaming as she hit the high note on the word "free" and the crowd burst into cheers of support!

Bottom Image - Gimme the Mike TV Show

Probably the opportunity Crystal is most grateful for is the chance to compete and perform on KPRC Channel 2 Houston's "Gimme the Mike!" television show. It was a televised vocal competition similar to American Idol and only 25 contestants were chosen to compete.  The filming and preparation lasted several months and during that time Crystal also got to participate in a Ford commercial, a Salon commercial and a televised interview. Although she did not win the competition, the lessons she learned were extremely valuable.  What an incredible experience!
